The Life Resources Foundation

This ministry is the centerpiece of our cross-cultural ministry at Whittier Hills. There are 13 Muslin tribal groups in the Southern Philippines with a long history of war and ties to terrorist groups who desperately need Christ. The Filipino church has recently become much more interested in reaching them - but they need training and support to do the job. The Life Resources Foundation is a school that trains courageous young Filipino believers in Bible, outreach, church planting, and a variety of practical skills to reach these Muslim people.

Whittier Hills has been very involved from the conception of the LRF. We have helped to build and launch the school, supported key missionaries, sent ministry teams to work with the missionary Filipino believers and the Muslim tribal people. We have supported students and teams of graduates who have gone out to reach the different peoples of the region. We continue to do all of these things and look to creative ways to expand our investment in this ministry. It is our prayer that God would use us to reach all 13 of these unreached peoples by partnering with others in the United States in supporting church planting teams to each group. Our prayer is that by 2016 each of these groups would have two ministry team working among them.

Pray for the Muslim peoples..

Pray that they will be open to ministry teams and not hostile. Pray that God would prepare them for the Gospel and that they would have the faith and courage to respond.

Pray for the LRF staff…

Pray that they will have courage and faith and that God would protect them and their families. Pray that they would teach and shepherd their students well and that they would grow in their own spiritual lives.

Pray for the LRF students and graduates…

Pray for their faith and courage. Pray that their character, understanding and ministry skills would grow through their time at the school and as they put what they practiced to work in the tribal groups. Pray for their safety and ministry effectiveness and for their financial support.

Pray that God would glorify Himself…

By beginning a mighty spiritual movement among these Muslim peoples and through the lives of the missionaries, students, church planters, and Whittier Hills teams who are involved in the ministry. Pray that He would use the ministry at the LRF to grow the passion and faith of the believers here at Whittier Hills.
